These tracks kick butt So many styles and grooves It’s all about time! – Johnny Rabb (Drum365.com) If you’re a drummer, you absolutely MUST take advantage of drumless tracks to improve your drumming. Unless, of course, you have a really professional full band at your beck and call to practice with daily. Even then, there are just some instances when a good set of drum play along tracks outshines even the best of bands.
Lots of inexperienced drummers begin their search for play along material by looking for covers of popular songs. While such tracks do have their place in the scheme of things, most of the time, you would be better served by utilizing some of the various recordings out there designed especially for TRAINING rather than sheer enjoyment of playing a song you know or like. (Not to mention, our drumless tracks are of a much higher quality than the other stuff you’re going to find online.) Once you develop good practice habits and use tools designed for drummer training, you will see a huge difference in your skill level, adaptability, flexibility, confidence, and enjoyment. Most drum instructors purchase and use such tracks as part of their lessons, and they recommend that their students use them at home as well. Some advantages of music minus drums practice tracks:. Practice many styles of music to improve your range. The timing is always accurate, which helps train your internal clock.
Practice anytime without having to wait for other musicians. Use them for informal performances to show off your skills – karaoke for drummers!. Don’t worry about trying to play over another drummer (as in playing along with regular songs). Professionally designed tracks are often long and somewhat repetitive by design – to give you plenty of uninterrupted, targeted practice. Some tracks are designed specifically to test and train your timing.
